Dear EPRI Generation Members

In 2010, the Generation Sector delivered 165 reports, workshops and technical updates. Many of these “deliverables” focused on research needs identified by you and the many advisors on whom we rely to help guide us so that our research remains relevant and important to your business. These deliverables focused on the sustainability of your existing assets, the next generation coal and gas plants, renewable energy and operation and maintenance.

But just “delivering” our research is not enough. The EPRI staff works hard with you, our members, to ensure that you are receiving value for the money you invest with us and to ensure that the research we do on your behalf remain relevant. Even then, we still receive consistent feedback that you want more and better ways to stay informed about our R&D and access our results.

Last fall, EPRI launched its new member “cockpits” on www.epri.com. These are a quantum leap forward in enhancing your ability to access our results. If you have not yet visited your program cockpits, I encourage you to do so today, and share your feedback with us. Comments so far have been overwhelmingly positive, and we continue to add new features.

This newsletter is another way we can make you more aware of our R&D. We reviewed your feedback and changed it to make it easier to read. You now will receive it 10 times a year (we’ll pause in the months when we meet face-to-face with our advisors), and we expect to make more changes over time.

We know that there always is room for improvement, and we never stop looking for better ways to keep you informed about your investment in EPRI. Please don’t ever hesitate to share your ideas and comments with us.

Sincerely,

Tom Alley
Vice President, Generation
