Activity on algae energy is up sharply.
EPRI discussing field tests with algae developers and member power companies.

The recent rise in market oil prices has fueled increased interest in algae energy. EPRI is discussing opportunities to pilot both open-pond and photo bioreactor designs with several algae developers and member power producers. These projects will provide EPRI the data needed to validate independently the performance of these systems, including space requirements, biodiesel feedstock production, and biofixation of flue gas CO2. Initial due diligence, pending NDA, for algae energy technologies is under development by Independence Bio Products and UNLV.
