EPRI Plans Research Response to Proposed National Regulation of Coal Combustion Product Disposal
EPRI’s research response to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) proposed national regulation of coal combustion product disposal was the focus of a research planning meeting held June 11 in Washington, DC.  In its proposal, EPA makes extensive requests for information.  About 40 stakeholders attending the planning meeting discussed research that EPRI could undertake to respond to those requests.  Areas of greatest need for new technical information include

  •   economic analysis of hazardous waste regulation,
  •   risk assessment analysis, and
  •   damage case assessments.

EPRI is developing a supplemental project to provide additional funding for this work.  To participate in the project or for more information, contact Ken Ladwig, (262) 754-2744, keladwig@epri.com.
