EPRI Comments on Integrated Science Assessment
for Particulate Matter
EPRI recently submitted comments to the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) on the Second External Review
Draft of the Integrated Science Assessment for Particulate
Matter (PM). Comments focused on major scientific
shortcomings in the assessment, including insufficient
consideration of the specific components of PM when
evaluating adverse health effects. Non-PM co-pollutants,
and the role they may play in observed effects, were
also inadequately addressed. For more information, contact
