Aerosol Research Team Receives Haagen-Smit
Prize
Using largely EPRI-sponsored research, Barbara Turpin,
Rutgers University; Pradeep Saxena, Kaiser Permanente
(and former EPRI project manager); and Elisabeth Andrews,
University of Colorado, have received the 2009 Haagen-Smit
Prize. The annual prize honors two outstanding papers
that have been previously published in Atmospheric
Environment covering different science areas. The
team was recognized for their benchmark and often-referenced
technical paper, “Measuring and simulating particulate
organics in the atmosphere: problems and prospects,”
Atmospheric Environment 34 (2000) 2983–3013.
