EPRI Health Effects Research Presented
at Dublin Conference
EPRI’s Ron Wyzga participated in the recent 2009
Conference of the International Society for Environmental
Epidemiology (ISEE) in Dublin, Ireland. His oral
presentation, “Monitoring
to resolve the air quality–health issue,”
provided an overview of air quality monitoring in the
United States, the limitations of current epidemiological
studies, and the need for additional monitoring and
toxicological studies to resolve key uncertainties.
EPRI-linked research was also presented in poster sessions:
- Sinclair, A., Edgerton, E., Wyzga, R., and Tolsma,
D. “A comparison of the effects of ambient air
pollution on outpatient visits for acute respiratory
illnesses over two time periods.”
- Sinclair, A., Melly, S., Tolsma, D., Wyzga, R.,
Spengler, J., and Rohr, A. “Childhood asthma
acute primary care visits, traffic, and traffic-related
pollutants.”
- Klemm, R., Wyzga, R., and Thomas, E. “Comparison
of estimated effects of air pollution on human mortality
calculated via SPlus and SAS.”
- Klemm, R., Wyzga, R., and Thomas, E. “Daily
mortality and air pollution in Atlanta: August 1998–December
2006.”
