Carolyn Shockley is the Vice President of Human Resources for the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).
In this role she is responsible for all aspects of People and Performance and will be focused on talent acquisition and retention, in addition to talent and leadership development. Shockley has 28 years of experience in the Energy industry and her experience crosses over multiple sectors, including nuclear power, transmission and distribution, and power generation. An experienced business leader, she has led global organizations in all three of these sectors.
Before moving to this role, Shockley was the Vice President of Generation where she was responsible for the R&D team which is focused on research, development, and the application of fossil and renewable technologies for both existing and future generating assets. Shockley spent most of her career with General Electric (GE) Energy where she progressed through a number of steadily expanding operational and business roles, her last role being the General Manager of Performance Services. Other key roles included GM, Electronic Products and Services in Transmission and Distribution, GM, Strategic Planning Processes, and GM, Parts and Services for the Nuclear division. Shockley won several awards during her career, including the Rader Energy Key Women in Energy Global Award and the Santa Clara Top Women in Industry Award. Shockley received her Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University and her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Santa Clara, California. |
